Light & Heavy Implantation Bleeding Stories And Pictures

heavy implantation bleeding stories and pictures

I’m sure you have come across plenty of women who have knowledge about light and heavy implantation bleeding stories and pictures from their early stages of pregnancy.

Implantation bleeding is a symptom that occurs at the primary stages of conception and lasts only for a few days. And luckily, not all women go through this.

Keep reading as we have included symptoms, pictures, and other information regarding light and heavy implantation bleeding.

What Is Implantation Bleeding?

Although only about 25% of women have implantation bleeding stories, it’s always wise to be aware of something that you may experience.

Implantation bleeding occurs at the primary stage of the conception period when a fertilized egg implants into the lining of your uterus.

The embryo, which is the egg fertilized by sperm, travels to your uterus through the fallopian tubes. It creates the perfect spot for the embryo to attract itself and

This makes it an ideal spot for the developing embryo to attach and grow, which, throughout the course of nine months, transforms into a teeny, weeny human being.

Since implantation is something that does not often happen in a woman’s body but only after conception, the process can disrupt the blood vessels in the lining of your uterus.

And this blood is termed “implantation bleeding,” which can be both heavy and light in terms of flow.

How Soon Does Implantation Bleeding Happen?

This is something that most of us women are confused with, as we often mistake implantation bleeding for periods because of the timing.

The reason is that implantation bleeding can occur around the time we expect our monthly periods. Although light implantation bleeding can usually be seen about a week to two weeks after the fertilization of the egg,

However, even though there is a huge difference between the signs and symptoms of implantation and menstrual bleeding, you can still take a pregnancy test just to confirm.

When Should I Take A Pregnancy Test?

Well, when I was trying to conceive and my period was a few days late, I successfully took eight pregnancy tests, seven of which gave me a negative result. The reason was that I took the test too early, and my urine couldn’t detect the pregnancy. But that’s not the case for every woman.

Although pregnancy can be detected through both blood and urine tests, it’s easier to purchase over-the-counter pregnancy tests and do them at home.

Pregnancy tests that can be done at home measure the urine (hCG) to give a positive or negative result. As soon as the implantation process occurs, your body will produce hCG.

Even if you do have sufficient  hCG levels in your urine a week after ovulation, there is no point in testing so early, as you are most likely to get negative results.

It’s quite natural to feel the need and excitement of taking a pregnancy test after experiencing implantation bleeding. But as I mentioned before, testing too soon may give you a false negative. meaning you are pregnant, but your urine is not able to detect it.

Don’t be disheartened, as the hCG levels tend to be relatively low (5 mUI/ML) immediately after you experience implantation bleeding. It’s better to wait until your period is due and you are at least a week late.

This is because by then the hCG levels in your urine will range from 10 to 700 mUI/ML, which is high enough to give you a positive result on the home pregnancy test.

Differences Between Periods and Implantation Bleeding

Implantation bleeding and period spotting are often difficult to tell apart, especially because both symptoms occur near the end of our menstrual cycle. Hence, we are often left confused about whether it’s time to start maternity shopping or whether to buy another pack of pads.

To make life easier for you, we have mentioned the difference between the two types of bleeding so that you know what is happening with your body.

Can You Still Test Positive During Implantation Bleeding?

Yes, it is possible to experience heavy implantation bleeding and a positive pregnancy test. Although the home pregnancy test may not give you accurate results as it takes time for the hCG levels to rise in your urine,

But you can always head off to your nearby clinic for a blood test to determine whether or not you are pregnant. These tests detect small amounts of hCG and can give results while you are bleeding.

What Does Heavy Implantation Bleeding Indicate?

Heavy implantation bleeding with clot stories is quite worrying, as there are possibilities that the pregnancy is an unhealthy one. And here are a few causes of such bleeding:

Miscarriage And Pregnancy Loss

10 to 20 percent of miscarriages occur in the first trimester of pregnancy and are often accompanied by heavy implantation bleeding along with severe pain.

The brown implantation bleeding picture given below is a case of miscarriage and pregnancy loss.

These are some of the symptoms, along with heavy bleeding, that may lead to miscarriages:

  • Lower back pain
  • Heavy bleeding with tissues and clots
  • Stomach cramps
  • The flow of red or brown-colored blood gets heavier day by day.

If any of these symptoms are visible in your first trimester, then you need to seek advice from a doctor.

Molar Pregnancy

Although molar pregnancy occurs in 1% of pregnancies and is a rare problem, it is very serious, causing the loss of the fetus.

This occurs when there is a generic error during the fertilization process that causes the placental tissue to grow abnormally, resulting in a molar pregnancy. The condition stops the growth of the fetus, leading to a miscarriage.

Look out for these symptoms of a similar pregnancy if you are experiencing heavy implantation bleeding.

  • Severe vomiting
  • Anemia
  • Nausea
  • Pelvis or lower stomach pain
  • Heavy bleeding is accompanied by cysts that look like grapes.
  • Bleeding that is dark brown or bright red
  • Cysts in the ovary
  • Overactive thyroid

Ectopic Pregnancy

A lot of the heavy implantation bleeding stories are due to ectopic pregnancy, which occurs when the fertilized egg latches on the outside of the womb instead of the uterus line.

Ectopic pregnancy is not normal, as 90% of the cases are due to the fertilized egg attaching itself to the fallopian tubes, which causes heavy internal bleeding.

These are the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy.

  • Constipation
  • Bleeding that is dark brown
  • Pain during bowel movements
  • Suffering from arm and shoulder pain
  • Stomach pain is unbearable.
  • Rectal pressure

Is It Possible To Be Pregnant With Heavy Implantation Bleeding?

Although heavy implantation bleeding stories and pictures indicate that pregnancy is not a normal one, even with this condition, around 10 to 20 percent of women manage to carry on with their pregnancies and give birth to healthy babies.

Women who experience heavy implantation bleeding for only a couple of days still have a chance to continue with their pregnancy journey.

But then again, if the bleeding continues for more than a week, along with cramping and other symptoms, then the chances of being pregnant are fairly low. and it’s most likely some sort of complication related to late periods.

On the other hand, there are times when heavy implantation bleeding leads to miscarriages or threatens abortion. Whatever it is, get a doctor’s opinion and find out the cause of the bleeding.

What Needs To Be Done In The Case Of Heavy Implantation Bleeding?

Speaking from my own experience, heavy bleeding during pregnancy should not be taken lightly. But if you are in your initial stages, then there is a high possibility that it is heavy implantation bleeding, for which you should not panic unless there are other symptoms.

In that case, follow our advice and see if the bleeding stops.

  • Increase your liquid intake.
  • Relax and rest as much as possible, as stress may increase the flow of blood.
  • Stay away from strenuous work.
  • Avoid sexual intercourse till the bleeding goes away.

When To See A Doctor

If you experience light implantation bleeding even after a couple of weeks of conception, then you should pay a visit to your gynecologist and find out what is happening with your body, as any type of bleeding should not be ignored.

In the case of heavy implantation bleeding with cramps, it is advised to seek medical attention as soon as possible. since it’s not a good sign of a normal pregnancy.

What Is the Diagnosis for Implantation Bleeding?

There are some tests recommended by doctors that can confirm your pregnancy and also find out the cause of implantation bleeding.

Ultrasound Scan At The Early Stages of Pregnancy

By doing these scans at the primary stages of pregnancy, you will be able to see the length of your pregnancy and whether or not there are any complications despite the heavy bleeding.

Pap Smear Test

This screening test helps to eliminate the risk of vaginal bleeding by checking for the possibility of STDs and cervical cancer.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) Blood Test

An HCG blood test is usually carried out to determine whether or not you are pregnant. However, the amount of HCG can also help find out if there are any complications related to pregnancy.
